Thomas Ballard
Founder, Crime Analyst
Thomas Ballard is a crime analyst for the University of Chicago Crime Lab, where he works with police departments, hospitals, and other government agencies and non-profits to help understand and reduce crime.
He founded City Watch with the hopes of bringing expert data analysis and tools to departments that may not have the resources of large departments like Chicago or New York.

Thomas graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Illinois with a degree in econometrics and political science, where he received the Best Thesis Award for his research on police use of force.

He is passionate about public service, and has worked for organizations like The White House, The Federalist Society, the Cato Institute.
